The Norfolk terrier is a type of Norwich terrier, differing only in having drop ears instead of erect ears. It was recognized as a separate breed by the English Kennel Club in 1965 and by the American Kennel Club in 1979. Terriers are characterized by feisty energetic personalities, and wiry coats. They come in a broad range of sizes. They hunt by digging into burrows (hence their name, derived from French terre, ?earth?).
